TerryLynn Melody

Posted by Bri On January - 26 - 2010

Hello,

I am a professional musician and songwriter who has been featured on National Public Radio, Clear Channel Radio, and Fox Television in Florida. I have won numerous awards for my vocals as well as several songwriting contests and am a published writer, and ASCAP member. I am quickly growing a fan base in SL and hope to grow that further. I have been performing in SL since August of 2009. I hope you will take some time and check out a show. I look forward to hearing from you or one of your representatives .I am still fairly new to SL. I joined in May of 2009 and began performing in late August of that same year. in that short time my Sl group has grown to over 300 members and is growing steadily. as is my subscribo group that is up to over 150.
I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

TerryLynn

“Terry Lynn shows a tremendous innate understanding of the essence of compelling song writing. From her heart and mind, lyrics and melodies flow that evoke the most warmly remembered sensibilities of modern American folk. Her songs are finely crafted but have a raw quality that is delivered with intelligence and captivating emotion “
Otha Young
Grammy Winning Songwriter
“The Sweetest Thing” Juice Newton
“Don’t You” The Forester Sisters
“What Can I Do With My Heart” Juice Newton
“Sweet Sweet Smile” The Carpenter

“Terry Lynn is one of those gifted artists that lights up the stage….and when you listen to her velvet voice, all seems right at that moment in time.”
Tracey Edwards
Host
Fox 4 TV’s – The Morning Blend

“This artist’s music paints lucid pictures of human nature for her audience. Songs like “We Can Be” manage to captivate the most minimal details and get to the bottom of things by singing personal, delicate, and expansive music. Conrads joins enthusiasm with a keen sense of phrasing which is something essential for a vocalist…something she calls genuine. ” … “her two passions, words and music, would fuse together years later and make her one of the most sincere and influential songwriters today.”
Yohanna de la Torre
Gulf Coast Time Magazine

“Show a Little Mercy” sounds like a timeless classic and “Silent Treatment” is infectious and reminiscent of Michelle Shocked at her best.”
Rokk Lattanzio producer, director, film maker

5. What have others said about your music in terms of your

A. Vocal style : I have a bit of county blues to my voice…. I’ve been told its “sweet and gritty”….I’ve won numerous Female vocalist awards on garageband.com and am most complimented on my voice. Fans have compared me to Melanie Safka, Sheryl Crowe, Janis Ian, and Janis Joplin

B. Acoustic style: as a guitarist my playing is fairly simple, I am no soloist on the guitar but i hold my own as an accompanist… I am first and foremost a vocalist

6. Anything else to tell prospective listeners about what kind of music you play and what makes it special? :)

Well crafted original songs sung by a pure voice…. I love telling the stories behind my songs…when I do the originals…. I also love giving covers my own personal twist. I choose a cover song not for its musical style but because I like the melody and lyric so my choice of covers will often cross many genres, you never know what you’ll hear… old, new, rock, blues, country, pop…I like it all most of all I like GOOD songwriting,

Happy Birthday, Nevermore Island!

Posted by Bri On January - 19 - 2010

Nevermore Island turned 1, Jan 17, 2010! With all the deployments and everything else, it’s been a wild ride!

We had toyed around the idea of getting an island and moving off mainland so that we could do more to help support and promote live music in Second Life. I think over our last year, we have done a heck of a job.

I would like to personally thank all of our musicians who have played for us this past year:
Strummer Vultee, Vanny Wilder, JoeUSA Shelbyville, Blue4U Nowicka, Mance Moonwall, Midnight McCarty, Friendly Fire, Phiona Ember, Trishda Kidd, Ric Rembrandt, Morton Shamen, Lightnin Lowtide, EvaMoon Ember, and Heath Elvehjem,

You all ROCK and I look forward to working with you all in the upcoming year.

The Art Museum is moving straight ahead, currently we have exhibits from two artists, Tears Indigo and Bobbi Laval. We have been honored to host the art of Scyber Magne, and Traelyn Denimore. Ms Denimore is now a permanent resident artist. We look forward in providing more original artworks from SL’s established and upcoming artists!

The E.A. Poe Society in SL is finally here! The art museum will house the gallery for Poe and his works year round. Our group is not sanctioned or do we claim to be a part of the RL Poe Society. We are working on getting readings of his works and discussions going on Sunday afternoons.

In closing, I would like to thank all of the Nevermore family for their support, hard work and friendship. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! I love ya!

This tip was found elsewhere, but sharing it here so it’s easier to find.  If your attachments get stuck inside your body, you can mess with the camera using alt or ctrl alt together but these methods are much easier.

Places to sell your items for Second Life on the web.

Posted by Andy J On January - 9 - 2010

Since many merchants have pulled their products from XstreetSL.com due to the new fees on freebies and dollarbies, here is a list of alternates markets.

  • MetaLife
  • Vitty
  • Slapt Me Adult, must state that you are at least 18 due to fantasy content they have.
  • Apez This is currently the one I am familiar with. Products for QnC are all being moved here first. They offer many other valuable services, such as a better way to store your L$s, similar to Onrez wallet.
  • SL Universe’s SL Shopper
  • Metaverse Exchange
